Please call during normal business hours to set up appointments.

After Hours

Our medical staff is available for your calls after hours. When the office is closed call 630-289-8800 and you will be directed to our answering service.

The answering service will then page the person on call. You should expect to hear back from us within 30 minutes. If not please call the answering service again and check that the phone number you gave is correct.

Remember that before calling the answering service you can always refer to our Medical Library first to seek out after hours advice.

Sick Child Visits

We pride ourselves on same day sick visits. We will always make time for sick children. We will make every effort to schedule appointments for sick children on the day that you call us.

Make sure your babysitter or day care provider knows to contact you as soon as possible if your child becomes ill. If you think your child needs to be seen the same day, please call before our office closes.

Emergencies

Call 911 immediately for life-threatening emergencies. Listed below are some examples:

• Your child is not breathing.
• Your child is choking.
• Your child is unconscious.
• Your child is severely bleeding.
• Your child is having seizures.
• Your child is seriously injured.

For poisonings, call the Illinois Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

n the case of minor emergencies (lacerations, cuts, mild fractures, sprains) and urgent problems, please call our office first for instructions.

Well Child Visit

To keep your children healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. We recommend that you call at least 1-2 weeks in advance so you may choose the date that best fits your needs.

School and Sports Physicals

Mandated school exams are performed when your children enter kindergarten, sixth grade, and high school. Yearly sports physicals are also required for those children participating in organized youth or school athletics.

We are on staff at the following hospitals:

• St. Alexius Medical Center
• Alexian Brothers Medical Center
• Central Dupage Hospital
• Northwest Community Hospital

Prescription Refills 

Please call the office for routine prescription refills during regular office hours. It is easiest if you contact your pharmacy first. The pharmacy can then fax the prescription or send it to the office via the internet. Plan ahead so that you don’t run out of important medicines. We ask that you always have the location and phone number of your pharmacy at hand when you call the office.

Referrals

Phone calls regarding referrals should be handled during routine office hours. Please allow at least 1-2 weeks for processing of referrals.

Billing

We accept most insurance companies.

Please make sure that we always have the most current insurance information on file for all your children, by allowing us to copy your insurance card at every visit. We will file insurance claims on your behalf.

The patient/parent is responsible for anything that is not covered, determined to be not eligible, or for any reason the claim is returned "unpaid". All co-payments must be paid at the time of service.

Also, please remember that you have 30 days in order to add your newborn to your insurance policy. Check with your insurance carrier or your Human Resource Department for details on how to add your newborn.

We belong to a PHO (physician-hospital organization) for the following BCBS of Illinois HMO products - BCBS HMO Illinois, Blue Advantage, Blue Precision HMO. You will need to choose AMITA Health CIN (site 197). It is important to note that AMITA Health CIN utilizes St Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates and Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Contact BCBS for any further information.
